Snowbreak Containment Zone is a brand new 3D Sci-fi RPG that offers a next-gen, cross-platform gaming experience. It follows a once-thriving city that has now transformed into the desolate and ruined Containment Zone Aleph. Your mission is to fearlessly embark on challenging quests alongside extraordinary beings known as Manifestations. With the recent release of Snowbreak Containment Zone, initial impressions of the game have been positive, influencing players’ decisions on whether to dive into this gaming experience. In this review, we will share our initial impressions and provide our ratings for Snowbreak Containment Zone.

A pretty good gameplay experience to begin with

The gameplay is pretty simple, beat your enemies, finish the boss, and reap the rewards. One notable aspect is the excellent guidance system that has been integrated. This system enables players to track nearby enemies and provides a helpful guide path line to follow to your next progress/save point, making navigation and progression through the game easier and more enjoyable.

It had its fair share of optimization problems early into the launch. The character movement felt very sluggish, with a lot of problems with the D-Pad and irresponsive controls. But the development team impressed me with their swift actions to address the issues. Within a couple of days, they improved the game significantly, leading to a much more pleasant experience. The game grew on me fairly quickly, and I found myself becoming more immersed and engaged as the problems were resolved.

A smooth UI but might have been arranged better

The UI is pretty smooth and the use of pleasing audio effects for every click adds an extra layer of appeal to the overall user experience. I despise UIs that are cluttered and come in with useless transitions which further makes it a horrible experience. Many games have spoiled the fun of having a bad UI, but this game has impressed me.

Snowbreak Containment Zone UI
Image via Seasun Games

Having said that, I felt that there could have been some improvements on the arrangement front. Not that it isn’t neat, but the menu options on the home screen are arranged in a way that sometimes confuses you, say they highlight the events in a large font whereas finding weapons or operatives is a tricky state with smaller menu boxes.

A gripping storyline makes the part unskippable

I’m a fan of storylines. The reason behind this is that I feel they tend to give a good blend with the original gameplay experience although many players feel that intricate or lengthy storylines can sometimes slow you down in enjoying the overall game. However, in the case of the Snowbreak Containment Zone, it seems different, fresh, and interesting.

Snowbreak Containment Zone stroyline

The narration is well done. The fact that it doesn’t feel AI-generated speaks to the skillful storytelling and attention to detail by the game’s developers, which helps in creating a more immersive experience. Honestly, I do feel some of the complex words went over my head since it is futuristic, but overall it is a gripping part of the story.

Amazing graphics steal the show

Sci-fi RPGs with some intense action get discarded if they fail in delivering a good graphics-inflicted product. Games that boast impressive graphics and visuals typically have a higher chance of success, as they tend to attract players and create a more immersive gaming experience. Snowbreak Containment Zone is one such title. Every action the character has is simply well-animated.

Snowbreak Containment Zone graphics
Image via Seasun Games

Especially when you perform the special moves, there’s no trace of stuttering or subpar visual effects, ensuring seamless and visually gratifying graphics, even during the cutscenes that are beautifully directed. Moreover, the attention to detail extends to the mini-maps that guide players through the captivating storylines. These maps are thoughtfully designed, offering just the right detail and shadows making the experience worthwhile.

Controls need to be better for an action title of this scale

Snowbreak Containment Zone gameplay
Image via Seasun Games

Well, I think I have praised certain things enough, but coming to the controls, here I feel I’ve been cheated on. The available control options feel constrained, potentially hindering the level of freedom and fluidity you usually expect from RPGs. Specifically, I feel somewhat disappointed with the implementation of the gyro controls. Given that the game offers specific settings related to gyro control options, I expected a more immersive and engaging experience in that aspect.

Free of ad interruptions, less content behind a paywall

The game is free of ads, “Yay! Happy!” but you can get some freebies if you would like to buy by playing ads, which I feel isn’t necessary given the game is rewarding enough. If you choose to, you can purchase in-game resources with real money, including a pass that generously grants enticing rewards to enhance your resources further.

Final Verdict

If I had to give a conclusion to this game, it is a great package for those who love futuristic sci-fi titles, which comes with a good plot. Amongst the sea of positives, there are certain areas that the dev team needs to focus on, especially the controls, which I feel need a good change in settings and also allow arrangements. Overall, it is a great game to spend time on, which I’m confident will improve as time goes on. With this, I conclude my Snowbreak Containment Zone Review.

Tower of God: New World is a brand new title inspired by the popular Tower of God franchise. Staying true to the original universe with the anime storyline adapted into the game, the game features unique RPG characteristics and strategic elements for players to try out. After its global launch on July 26th, Tower of God: New World has garnered favorable initial impressions, significantly impacting players’ choices regarding their engagement with the game. In this review, we will share our early impressions and offer ratings for the gaming experience Tower of God: New World provides.

A neat gameplay without much of a hassle

It is always the gameplay part that the players will be curious about, and we shall start with that. The gameplay is basic, pretty much what you expect from idle RPGs, a straightforward and familiar gameplay style without too many hurdles for a beginner, who’s helped out with the basic Auto Battle system as well as arranging his team. Apart from the two basic game modes, there are several sections where players can enjoy fighting with their team.

Elementals and Classes are also present, allowing a more strategic approach to your battles thanks to their buff effects and leverages. They come in very handy and are essential to achieve wins. The Shinsu training mechanic is a good addition to training, emphasizing teamwork. While we may have preferred more work on the battle system since this is a tactical game, overall, the game manages to strike a satisfying balance in the gameplay aspect.

A storyline that delves deep into the Tower of God universe

The storyline is faithful to the Tower of God universe, with Bam once again featured as the main protagonist of the story mode. They are distributed into Acts, where each story has a mission to complete for the player in a mini-world. The narration, particularly that of Headon, is well-crafted and captivating, maintaining players’ interest throughout the game, and doesn’t feel dragging. Having a log helps too, to look into any missed lines to connect the stories. The auto-play option for the story mode offers a delightful experience akin to reading a visual book, enhancing the overall immersion in the game.

Visually pleasing graphics and well-directed cutscenes are a major plus

For a game that draws inspiration from an anime or manga that was known for good art, surely the expectations are higher. Thankfully, Tower of God: New World lives up to the expectations it promised. The cutscenes are absolutely fire, I love the little attention to detail they have given in costumes, especially while running at higher graphics. During the battle, you don’t get to see much of a difference but the special move effects are designed well.

Tower of God: New World gameplay
Image via Netmarble

The anime-esque style art is what makes the game work visually, and I’m a fan of that. In some cases, you can see optimization getting involved to meddle with the graphics for a stutter or two, but it is no big deal. On the fresher side, music can be and needs to be given a good update. While entering the game, one would expect an epic thumping BGM running to invite you, but well, it doesn’t happen. The home screen music is plain boring, and that needs to be taken into consideration.

UI is a letdown but has room for improvement

For a portrait game, you usually expect where menu icons and options often feel cluttered, but here the options are neatly arranged at first glance. However, the problem lies in the arrangements inside the menu are something I did not find easy on the eye. The oversized buttons and poorly organized layout lead to wasted space, detracting from the overall visual appeal, which is already bland.

Tower of God: New World Ui
Image via Netmarble

Another serious concern is about the response of the UI. Absolutely poor, and needs a fix as soon as possible. You can easily notice a delay of close to a second leaving you questioning yourself “Why is this so slow?” This happens during battles too, say while changing camera cutscenes or promoting a special move, you can easily notice.

In-app purchases appear to be relatively expensive

No ads, good plus. But while scrolling down on the options, I felt the rates for in-game resources seemed to be on the heavier side, and apart from one good and cheap deal, it was all overpriced. But on a common note, it doesn’t favor pay-to-win (P2W) players only. There is a good grind for the F2P ones, yes, but by progressing, good pulls and obtaining the best teammates are a certainty due to increased rates for your favorite characters.

Final Thoughts

Overall, coming to my final verdict in this Tower of God: New World review, I would say the game is a fun RPG with good emphasis given to characters and visuals. The game is very addictive for someone who is interested in webtoons, and there is nothing else to rejoice to get the Tower of God experience on mobile. As mentioned earlier, there are a few pointers on the UI and Music that would make the experience more worthwhile, which is easy as the team drops updates.

To be completely honest, I would have personally preferred this game to be designed in landscape mode, incorporating more complex strategic elements and reducing the emphasis on idle and collectible gameplay aspects. However, these decisions regarding the game’s design ultimately rest with the development team. I would be lying if I said I didn’t enjoy this game, even though my rating is, well, you know, a bit stringent.

A good idle RPG by Netmarble keeping it tight with the graphics and gameplay, however missing out on a few minor things in UI and the music.

The seamless integration of adorable visuals and charming audio creates a heartwarming and immersive experience that captures the true spirit of Hello Kitty and her friends.

Hello Kitty Island promises an Adventure UI and Controls

Hello Kitty Island Adventure boasts a user-friendly and intuitive User Interface (UI) that ensures players can navigate the game effortlessly. The UI features charming and recognizable Sanrio-themed icons and menus, reflecting the game’s delightful aesthetic. The layout is thoughtfully designed to provide easy access to essential game features and information.

Players can effortlessly switch between different areas of the island, access quests, check their inventory, and review character profiles. The UI also prominently displays the player’s friendship level with each character, encouraging players to focus on building strong bonds with Hello Kitty and her friends. The delightful and cohesive design of the UI adds to the overall charm of the game, making it an enjoyable and visually appealing experience.

In Hello Kitty Island Adventure, moving your character around the island is easy – just tap on the movement buttons within a circular area on the screen. However, it’s worth noting that the camera movement is fixed, and you can only see the world from your character’s point of view. While this control system is straightforward, some players may prefer more camera freedom during gameplay.

Comparison with other existing Hello Kitty Games

Hello Kitty Island Adventure focuses on life-simulation gameplay, allowing players to explore a vibrant island, interact with adorable Sanrio characters, and revitalize an abandoned theme park. On the other hand, Hello Kitty Friends offers a puzzle-adventure experience, where players complete match-three puzzles to rescue Hello Kitty’s friends from mischievous enemies.

Meanwhile, Hello Kitty Cafe is a time-management game that lets players run their own cafe, preparing delicious treats and serving customers in a charming Hello Kitty-themed setting. Each game caters to different gameplay preferences, providing fans with a variety of delightful ways to enjoy the beloved world of Hello Kitty.

Final Verdict

From a reviewer’s perspective, Hello Kitty Island Adventure was immediately captivating by its heartwarming charm and delightful visuals. The life-simulation gameplay offered a serene and immersive experience as the reviewer strolled through picturesque landscapes, engaged in fun activities, and interacted with beloved Sanrio characters.

The heart events and bonding mechanics added depth to the narrative, fostering a sense of connection and emotional investment in the storyline. While the fixed camera control was a minor drawback, the overall gameplay experience was a joyous celebration of friendship and creativity.

The game’s adorable and cohesive art style, coupled with its charming audio, created a wholesome and inviting ambiance. The simple yet responsive controls ensured smooth navigation, allowing the reviewer to effortlessly explore the island’s various locations and engage in quests.

The user-friendly UI offered easy access to important game features and information, enhancing the overall gameplay experience. Overall, Hello Kitty Island Adventure left a lasting impression, making it a delightful and uplifting gaming experience for players of all ages.

RAIDER SIX is an online multiplayer battle royale game where like any other battle royale, players come across a particular map and matchmake with each other. Getting into this RAIDER SIX review, it is important to understand that with the experience of playing a whole bunch of games, there’s a bar that they must meet.

While not every game cannot meet the likes of PUBG Mobile or Call of Duty: Mobile, there are games that bring something new to the table and scratch the itch for something engaging. Unfortunately, like many other lower-tier Battle Royale games or shooter titles that we’ve seen so far, RAIDER SIX falls flat.

RAIDER SIX offers nothing new than the same age-old Battle Royale tropes

Starting off with the RAIDER SIX review, the game presents itself as pretty much any generic Battle Royale game. A story you wouldn’t care much about, an introduction to the game that shows you just how rough the game is in comparison to the more popular ones and then you go around switching guns and customizing characters to your heart’s contentment.

raider-six-gameplay-overview
Image via Starlight Gaming India

It’s not going to be a smooth experience so that’s not something you should expect and once you want to hop into a game, you can go for standard Battle Royale or a Werewolf mode where you’re running away from glitchy cookie-cutter models of werewolves that look like JPGs moving around on the screen. To say the least, it’s not a good experience.

It also feels like the game really copies other titles and gives off strong PUBG Mobile/ BGMI vibes. Now it’s true that you can’t really make a battle royale look all that different from other titles in the same genre. But even then, at times there are places where the game looks a little suspicious of something odd.

raider-six-jump
Image via Starlight Gaming India

Like most other games, you’re looking at the usual arsenal of weapons that you unlock as you progress along, customization, and all the other bells and whistles that are thrown into games nowadays. There are the usual shops, trading options, leveling systems, etc. Even the loading screen seems oddly reminiscent of that of PUBGM/BGMI but we’ll just chalk that up to being a slightly similar design and unintentional. Overall, the gameplay does not hold up.

A lackluster experience with bugs, glitches, and frequent lags

As mentioned previously in this Raider Six review, the game is glitchy and pretty rough. During our testing phase, we found it to be rather lackluster with very little engagement. After getting stuck with poor controls, lag, glitchy visuals, visual effects that are straight out of the early ages of gaming, and a bunch of other shortcomings of the title, at some point, it was really apparent that the game wasn’t going anywhere.

There was an actual delay in relatively simple tasks like switching guns or throwing grenades along with buggy animations.  The core gameplay of course revolves around the battle royale genre, where, as we mentioned before, there’s nothing that’s novel or creative. Imagine a generic battle royale title and then lower your expectations by a bit.

raider-six-gun-gameplay-action
Image via Starlight Gaming India

Now there are a few things that are likable and perhaps could make it more entertaining. There’s the element of being able to turn into animals, fighting mutant animals and monsters, and piloting your plane… But that’s about it.  Perhaps looking at this game from the perspective of someone with experience in better titles might really just feel a little too brutal. But considering how there’s really no incentive to play this over any of the better titles from bigger studios, the game feels anemic.

Semi-decent Graphics and poor Audio support

The graphics can be pretty decent on the higher settings if your phone can handle it (which it should since this isn’t a heavy title) On the lower settings however, you’re getting pretty much PS2 levels of graphics with trees looking like scribbled drawings and the blood effects are the absolute worst. The audio is awfully tinny and it’s hilarious because things like RPG missiles sound like they’re straight from the VFX of a cheesy 80s action film.

raider-six-action
Image via Starlight Gaming India

Standard Controls but comes with a clunky UI

The controls are pretty standard although at times it can be a pain to go through doorways and windows and it might look a little oddly synced up with the visuals but it’s manageable. The UI really does seem to resemble some other titles and is a little clunky but it works as intended as well. Nothing too bad here which is actually good for this game.

IAPs can help unlock weapons and skins but can’t kill the game’s glitches

This is where the game’s loose ends show through with many players reporting issues with the game’s player data and accounts system, connectivity, and the general state of the game. We encountered some major issues with lag which were on the game’s end so maybe the servers are to blame. Like most other free-to-play titles, this game also has ads (optional) along with IAPs in the form of currency you can use to unlock weapons and skins, among other cosmetics.

Final Verdict

It’s not uncommon for game developers to make use of their nationality in their USP. This one uses the tag “#IndiaKaApnaGame” on their website and the game has gained a fair amount of popularity because of this and being a battle royale title. That being said, the history of games of Indian origin is far from one that shows off a whole lot of promise with most games being a hit or a miss.

In the case of Raider Six, the game actually garnered over a million pre-registrations in a few days. The real catch, however, is that this is not really an “Indian” game with China-based Softstar Entertainment actually being behind the title. It is more than evident that this game lacks in certain areas without having something that gives it what it needs to be worth playing.

There are much better options worth considering and the hype that this title creates isn’t justified with the gameplay, as evident in this Raider Six review. This honestly feels like a repeat of FAU-G (A long time ago but sort of relevant in this situation) and it’s not a good situation for a game to be in. Right now, all we can say is that if you’re looking for something in this genre, this game just doesn’t make the cut.

Motorsport Rivals is a new multiplayer racing game brought to you by Playsport Games which offers a unique F1-themed experience. The game offers many tournaments, races, and clan-based events for players to take part in, this helps to keep the players engaged and allows developers to add new content on a regular basis. In this Motorsport Rivals Review, we will try to highlight key features of the game and rate it fairly.

Motorsport Rivals does not offer the traditional racing gameplay

To kick off our Motorsport Rivals Review we would like to start it with the gameplay on offer. One thing which makes the game different from the rest of the titles available in the market is the gameplay that it offers.

Now this is not necessarily the decisive point of comparison as a lot depends upon the person who is playing but it still can make a difference. The game, Motorsport Rivals makes use of a luck-based random powerup card generator which gives different boosts to the players depending on the card pulled.

Motorsport Rivals Android iOS, Motorsport Rivals
Image via Playsport Games

There are different numbers and types of powers in the game which the players can make use of and combine in the spins to get better boosts in the game, this keeps the race interesting to a certain extent. However, if someone is a fan of racing games with actual controls in the gameplay then we will suggest staying away from this title as it does not offer anything as such.

Speaking from a general perspective the game offers a very limited and repetitive gameplay one which lacks in-depth and in-game features. There are certain different tournaments and competitions in place which tend to offer additional races and events but still the gameplay remains the same.

Lacks in providing different game modes due to its general game design

The game in general offers a very repetitive and standard gaming experience one which follows the same level and creative design. The gameplay as explained earlier fails to add diversity to the game which makes it appear even more repetitive. Apart from the gameplay when it comes to game modes the game again fails to deliver, there are different types of tournaments in place for the players to challenge themselves against real-time players but the gameplay in these tournaments remains the same.

Due to its lack of features and limited gameplay, the game fails to deliver on the creative front and fails to impress in terms of gameplay and game modes. Even in the standard game mode, there is a limited scope of participation for the players as the cars are controlled by AI and only the powerups can be controlled by players which are drawn randomly in the game.

There are three major cards in the game namely the skill card, the speed card, and the gift card. These three powerup cards form a major role in the game as the whole gameplay literally revolves around them. The skill card can help players increase their in-game level categorized by the name driver’s XP in the game.

The speed card is the major factor in winning the races as it helps to increase the speed of the character in the game. The gift card allows the players to send gifts to other members of the game and get some gifts back in return. Gifts can be either coins or experience points.

Compete with other players in tournaments around the globe

Despite the gameplay lacking depth and features there are different sets of game modes available for the players to experience, the developers have already added many in-game tournaments with each having different criteria to compete in. This promises to keep the players in the game engaged as it offers different challenges to test them against.

Motorsport Rivals beginners guide, Motorsport Rivals
Image via Playsport Games

Tournaments in the game test the players’ abilities against different players from around the globe and allow them to compete against each other in order to compete and test their skills online. With each race completed, players earn driving bonus experience points which allows them to level up and unlock further more races and tournaments in the game.

Motorsport Rival lacks in the Graphics and Music department

The game alongside having shallow features in gameplay also has weak showings in the music and in-game sounds department, with there being repetitive sound effects in the game for most animations in the game. This fails to attract attention to the overall gameplay that the game offers and makes it appear a little bit vague after a couple of races as it becomes repetitive.

The graphics also fail to deliver a solid impact on the game as there is nothing too special about them. The game follows linear gameplay hence it becomes even more difficult for the game to showoff its abilities in the graphics department.

Motorsport Rivals beginners guide, Motorsport Rivals
Image via Playsport Games

Sound and Music despite being overlooked many times, form up and constitute a great part of the gameplay along with the graphics of the game and make it engaging and captivating for players. In the game, Motorsport Rivals both graphics and sound effects lack tremendously and thus make it really hard for players to connect with it.

The game offers an average UI layout with no scope for controlling the game

The button layout of the game is decent, it does not feel choppy or laggy but there is no scope for players to control the cars while in a race. All they can do is draw for cards and the game automatically adjusts everything accordingly. This limits the scope of control that the players can have over the cars in the game.

The game promotes in-app purchases to level up faster

The game has plenty of in-app purchases which the players can make use of in the game to progress further quickly. There are purchases that can be made to purchase coins in the game which are required to fill up the energy bar in the game. The energy bar consists of individual energy units which are required to participate in individual races of tournaments in the game.

Motorsport Rivals beginners guide, Motorsport Rivals
Image via Playsport Games

The game is free to play and the coins have other major use except to fill up the energy units. Energy replenishes itself over time as well hence there is no need really to go for in-app purchases and the game offers a fair for everyone opportunity to compete in the tournaments without providing an advantage to the ones with the purchases.

Final Verdict

Motorsport Rivals offers a very different perspective on the F1 racing genre and involves various different powerup cards all of which offer various perks. The game has different tournaments in place but still, all of them offer the same basic gameplay.

Players are advised to not expect the traditional racing experience as it offers no control over the cars except for drawing power cards. We hope that with our Motorsport Rivals Review, we were able to rate the game fair and square.

PAYDAY: Crime War is the debut of the PC/Console heist series PAYDAY on mobile. Developed by PopReach Corporation, PAYDAY: Crime War takes in the exact concept of its PC/ Console counterparts. As a co-op PVE, PVPVE heist shooter the game made its arrival grandiose by promising a on-the-go experience while staying true to its source PAYDAY game. How much it delivers on the promise is something we’ll attempt to discuss and conclude in this PAYDAY: Crime War review.

A complete heist of stability

PAYDAY: Crime War is not too graphically impressive as we’ll discuss later in this PAYDAY: Crime War review. However, despite not being a looker, the game also has a not-so-stable performance. Graphical bugs, clipping, movement stick freezing for a second and a few dips in FPS are just very common here. Even on mid-high spec devices, this game can’t perform smoothly at all times and that’s an issue.

Bearing a PC/ Console hit franchise name on a game bares some responsibilities which weren’t handled with much care in this case. However, there was already an update during our time with the game that fixed some performance issues so it might be safe to assume it could launch at a relatively better-performing state. Graphically the game felt okayish, not impressive or bad. But looking at the modern-day mobile games, the graphics could have been a lot better. The sound effects are fine and go well with the game.

Lack of content hurts the launching pad

Every online co-op or PVP game at the time of launch is less impressive in terms of content and slowly fills the multiplayer game with content that is understandable and acceptable as well. However, in the case of PAYDAY, it’s exceptionally minimal the amount of content in this game available (although the game is at a very early phase of launch).

payday crime war victory
Image via PopReach Corporation

If the game doesn’t overhaul its variety of game modes, additional challenges, and franchise staples like the cop vs robber mode it’s extremely stale and might just hurt the game at launch. This aspect of the game definitely can be redeemed with regular and timely updates however, when it launches it should have way more variety in terms of game modes.

The in-game AI is exceptionally brain dead

PAYDAY: Crime War is a PVE and PVPVE game so naturally the enemy AI plays a big role in it. Especially in the PVE aspects of it, as things stand the AI is extremely dumb and seems to spawn sticks in weird spots, as well as stage you for a good 5 seconds before firing.

The AI is so brain dead it’s very apparent from the moment you jump into co-op as they have little to no strategy of cohesive attack whatsoever. The so-called SWAT team can’t seem to find their way past the reception desk of a jewelry store at times. This causes less meaning to every heist you complete cause the game doesn’t pose any challenge to you, let alone co-op partners.

payday-crime-war-battles
Image via PopReach Corporation

An overhaul in difficulty is extremely necessary

PAYDAY: Crime War, as mentioned above doesn’t bear a very challenging combat due to which the entire difficulty falls on the objectives which as of now aren’t challenging at all, especially with co-op partners. In order to make the game fun a more intense scenario or objective is required.

Most of the game modes in this game are way too easy as you’d just need to barge in take money with a generous time limit and get out and finish some easy-to-kill cops. This needs to change or mix up with either game modes like Cops vs Robbers or more strict time limits. The game isn’t much fun or satisfying however, bear in mind this could all be fixed with future updates or on the launch.

Janky controls restrict the flow of gameplay

The core gameplay loop of PAYDAY is pretty intact actually however, the janky controls slow down the free-flowing nature seen in the original games. The game doesn’t have input delay but you’ll often notice a disconnect between what you want to do and what transpires on the screen.

payday crime war shooting mechanics action gun fire
Image via PopReach Corporation

This is primarily due to the movement button not being tuned to the flexibility of mobile screen movements or the sharp turns you’ll need to take a lot of time to check for enemies, which is pretty common in fps titles. Button mapping is standard and you can tune almost all of it to your liking it works fairly responsively though not without some jank.

The game makes you go through the same old microtransactions

Mobile games are usually expected to come with microtransactions and this game isn’t stranger to that as well. However, they are numerous but not aggressive. The game reminds you when you start matchmaking that you’re playing it for free with it being written right next to “Ready”.

PAYDAY Crime War shop
Image via PopReach Corporation

Small things aside there is some play-to-win stuff behind a paywall such as body armor that affects the gameplay heavily. Others aren’t that effective. The blatant pushing of microtransaction is a bit too much in this game though as when you open a pack you’d get a timer after which you’ll get your stuff however, if you want to open the package right away then you have to pay with gold ( A currency in the game).

Final Verdict

PAYDAY: Crime War, as discussed in this review, has suffered from many technical issues however, the core PAYDAY DNA is very much present in this game, and the structures, although primary, are very much present in this game. It has a lot of potential as we definitely recognize the efforts put into making this experience mobile-friendly and bringing in the staple main characters of the original Payday.

The game right now is not much engaging or but however, it can turn up a lot with some tweaks and updates and this game can be much more fun. Meaningful progress, variation in game modes and a bit of challenge thrown into the gameplay mix are pretty solid as of now. Sticking around with this game might be worth it because when tuned correctly the PAYDAY formula is still top-notch.

PAYDAY: Crime War is a very content-dry game currently with few game modes and very janky gameplay doesn’t help it either. The game has some promising elements such as the theme and setups however, the core gameplay fails to deliver any sort of challenge due to the current state of AI and controls.

The game, however, has a lot of potential and microtransactions aren’t as pay-to-win as of now so it can be a very complete experience with numerous and meaningful updates. However, we’d definitely recommend checking the game out in some time as this PAYDAY on-the-go formula alone should stir up excitement and with some polish, it could be worth it.

Harry Potter: Magic Awakened a collaboration game by Warner Bros. Games and NetEase, is a captivating collectible card game (CCG) that combines MMO and RPG elements. With its mobile format, players can fully immerse themselves in the magical world of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. They’ll experience life as a student, get sorted into houses, attend classes, engage in duels, and embark on adventures. In this review of Harry Potter: Magic Awakened, we aim to spotlight the main features of the game and provide an honest rating.

Enroll as a Student at Hogwarts School of Wizardry

Let’s begin the review of Harry Potter: Magic Awakened by discussing its gameplay. The game effectively incorporates various elements, offering a diverse and engaging experience. It successfully captures the magical essence portrayed in the famous Harry Potter theme. In the initial stages, players receive an invitation to attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. They embark on a journey, following instructions from a letter, and are transported to the enchanting Wizarding World.

Like many games in this genre, players have the opportunity to interact and share their ideas and gameplay experiences with others. They can discuss strategies on how to choose the best spells and build an effective deck for their magical adventures.

As players progress through the game, they not only attend classes to learn new spells but also engage in thrilling wizard duels. These duels require strategic thinking, as players must carefully select and cast spells to overcome their opponents. The game offers a wide range of spells, each with its own unique effects and strengths, allowing players to experiment and find the best combinations for different situations.

Beyond the duels, players can also embark on quests and delve into the mysteries of the magical world. The Forbidden Forest, a particularly enigmatic location, presents opportunities for exciting adventures and discoveries. Exploring this mysterious realm adds an element of intrigue to the gameplay, as players uncover hidden secrets and encounter fantastical creatures.

Magical Storyline with Mysteries to uncover

Now, let’s discuss the storyline in our Harry Potter: Magic Awakened review. The game presents a relatively average storyline that centers around the magical aspects of the world and the interactions among the students of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

In contrast to Hogwarts Legacy, which is set a century before the events of the main Harry Potter series, Harry Potter: Magic Awakened takes place a decade after the Battle of Hogwarts depicted in The Deathly Hallows. This timeline places the game in a unique position, allowing players to encounter both new characters and familiar faces from beloved books and films.

Harry Potter Magic Awakened movement
Image via Warner Bros

The storyline is centered around the player’s Journey in the school and is available for Yearbook Progress, specifically Year 1 and Year 2. It is still unclear when Year 3 is releasing but with the current Storyline progress, there is still much to uncover. Players are immersed in a setting where they can experience the everyday life of a student at Hogwarts.

This also enables players to encounter mystical creatures in the game. While the storyline may not be groundbreaking or highly innovative, it successfully captures the essence of the Harry Potter universe and allows players to delve into the magical world they know and love.

To compensate for the shortcomings of the Main storyline, the developers have incorporated multiple side quests into Harry Potter: Magic Awakened. These quests can be freely explored and completed according to the player’s preferences. However, it’s worth noting that some of these side quests suffer from a lack of excitement and depth, much like some of the missions found in the main storyline.

The concept of discovering these side quests is intriguing, as they are scattered throughout the game’s expansive map. Players must actively interact with different characters who offer these quests in order to trigger them. Nevertheless, the presence of side quests in Harry Potter: Magic Awakened provides players with opportunities to further immerse themselves in the magical world and engage in additional gameplay activities beyond the main storyline.

Indulge in extensive character customization

One of the key highlights of Harry Potter: Magic Awakened is the chance to attend the prestigious Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. As players dive into the game, they are treated to a series of captivating cutscenes that set the stage for their magical adventure.

Once the introductory sequences conclude, players are granted the opportunity to create and customize their own unique character. While the initial customization options may seem somewhat limited, the game progressively unlocks additional choices as players advance through their Hogwarts journey. This means that as you delve deeper into the game and uncover more secrets, your character can acquire various quest-limited outfits and reflect your personal style.

With each new customization option, players can tailor their character’s appearance, including features such as hairstyles, facial features, and clothing. This level of detail allows for a more immersive and personalized experience, making each player’s character truly unique within the magical world of Hogwarts.

Showcase your Mastery of Spells with Harry Potter: Magic Awakened

In the magical realm of Harry Potter: Magic Awakened, players have the exciting opportunity to demonstrate their mastery of spells. The game provides a platform for you to showcase your skill and expertise in the captivating art of magic.

With an extensive repertoire of spells at your disposal, you can engage in thrilling duels and face formidable opponents. From casting offensive spells to defending yourself with protective enchantments, the game allows you to unleash the full potential of your spellcasting abilities.

Complementing the remarkable graphics is an equally impressive audio experience. The powerful soundtrack adds a new dimension to the game, perfectly matching its theme and enhancing the dramatic storytelling. From the serene moments in the Hogwarts castle to the intense and thrilling combat sequences, the immersive audio keeps players engaged and emotionally invested in the magical world they are exploring.

Together, the captivating visuals and immersive audio create a seamless and enchanting atmosphere that brings the Harry Potter universe to life in an extraordinary way. The game’s attention to detail in both its visual and audio elements further solidifies its position as a remarkable and enjoyable gaming experience for fans of the beloved series.

Harry Potter: Magic Awakened UI and Controls

Harry Potter: Magic Awakened provides players with a range of choices in terms of UI and controls, catering to both mobile and PC platforms. Despite being a spell-centered game where accuracy and timing are crucial, the controls are remarkably accurate. The game ensures a smooth and responsive experience, demonstrating precise reflexes and touch response.

However, one minor issue we encountered was related to player movement during combat. Navigating and timing movements correctly can be somewhat challenging and may require some practice to master, particularly when using the Dobby Echo. This feature offers a blink-type movement mechanic, which some players might find difficult to control and time accurately.

Nonetheless, the overall UI and controls in Harry Potter: Magic Awakened provide players with a satisfactory experience, allowing them to cast spells and engage in duels with precision and fluidity. While there may be a slight learning curve when it comes to mastering certain movements, it does not significantly hinder the overall gameplay enjoyment.

Gacha Mechanics brings decent opportunities for F2P Players

Harry Potter: Magic Awakened incorporates popular Gacha mechanics found in other games of the genre, allowing players to obtain new spells and stronger rarity cards through the Magical Studies draw system. This system utilizes Gems and keys as currency, with Gems obtainable through gameplay or real-money purchases.

While the Gacha system introduces an element of chance to acquire desired items, the game offers multiple avenues for players to progress without spending money. The milestone system, daily login bonuses, events, and missions provide opportunities for players to earn rewards and advance in the game. These acquired currencies can then be used to access various contents in the shop and obtain powerful cards through the Magical Studies draw.

Harry Potter: Magic Awakened strikes a balance between utilizing Gacha mechanics and remaining friendly to free-to-play (F2P) players. The game ensures that free rewards are generous enough to allow F2P players to enjoy meaningful progression and engagement. This approach maintains a fair and balanced player experience, catering to both those who choose to spend and those who prefer a F2P approach.

In summary, Harry Potter: Magic Awakened incorporates Gacha mechanics for acquiring spells and cards, but it also provides ample opportunities for players to progress without spending money. With a variety of free rewards and a balanced approach, the game ensures a rewarding and enjoyable experience for players of all spending preferences.

Comparison with other existing Harry Potter Games

Among the Harry Potter titles, Hogwarts Legacy is the only game that most players compare the Harry Potter: Magic Awakened. Unlike Hogwarts Legacy, which is set 100 years prior to the main Harry Potter series, Harry Potter: Magic Awakened is set 10 years after the Battle of Hogwarts as portrayed in The Deathly Hallows. This setting offers players the exciting opportunity to encounter a mix of new characters and familiar favorites from iconic books and films.

As the game is set in a post-Battle of Hogwarts era, players can expect to interact with iconic characters who have survived the war, witnessing how their lives and roles have evolved over the years. This provides an opportunity for players to deepen their connection to the Harry Potter universe by experiencing new storylines and uncovering the continued adventures of their favorite characters.

Furthermore, the time gap of ten years between the Battle of Hogwarts and the events of the game allows for the introduction of fresh faces and new characters, enriching the game’s narrative and expanding the magical world. Players can look forward to encountering compelling individuals who have emerged in the years following the famous battle, adding depth and excitement to the overall story.

In summary, Harry Potter: Magic Awakened’s timeline, set ten years after the Battle of Hogwarts, offers a blend of familiarity and novelty. Players will have the chance to reunite with beloved characters from the original series while also encountering intriguing new personalities as they explore the captivating world of magic.

Puzzle game lovers often get bored with the same set of puzzles that play, be it on mobile, PC, or even on pen and paper. The quest for finding a new puzzle game never stops. And maybe this is where Squiggles 10 can come in handy. This Squiggles 10 game review will help you to decide if this is the game you must try irrespective of your love for puzzle games.

Connect the colorful dots

Squiggles 10 brings a very simplistic approach to puzzle solving. The word ‘Squiggles’ mean a short line that curls and loops in an irregular way’, and the offers exactly the game. As a player, you’ll be challenged to connect different colored dots in the correct manner, touching all the boxes inside your screen.

You’ll be tapping on a dot first and then keep moving your finger over the boxes to meet the other same colored dot to create a line. By the time you connect the last dot, the main motive is to cover all the boxes while connecting the dots. For now, the game is only about one type of puzzle. There are no additional game modes or something similar.

Squiggles 10 offers a simplistic yet challenging experience

While playing Squiggles 10 on my iPad Pro M1 for the review, I loved how the game offers a blend of simple and challenging puzzles at the same time. If you are very good at puzzle solving, you will be able to finish the puzzle within the first 10 turns, and probably that is why the game’s name adds the number at the end. However if you are feeling challenged already and want to just have fun, you can take as many turns as you want.

The game also shows the actual solution with just one tap at the top right corner of the screen. Even if you see the solution and solve the puzzle it does not hamper your progress. At the end of the day, you just want to solve a puzzle and have some fun. And Squiggles 10 does it pretty neat as evident in our review.

No IAPs or but there are in-game ads

A good thing about the game is that it does not have any kind of IAPs by the time I’m writing this post. Although there are some in-game ads, the game is clean and offers a direct approach to puzzle solving. You just have to install the game and you are ready to solve a puzzle, as simple as that.

Final verdict

In a nutshell, Squiggles 10 does it well what it is supposed to do. There’s no complicacy, just a pure and simple puzzle game on connecting the dots theme. This may not be a game that you’ll play for a long time, but definitely, one that can be played during your breaks, while you commute, or even when you’re in the toilet. So if you are a puzzle game lover or just someone looking for a fun time killer or maybe looking for a game to challenge your problem-solving skills, you should definitely try out the game.

Undawn, one of the most anticipated post-apocalypse survival RPG  game brought to you by Lightspeed Studios and Level Infinite offers a very unique post-apocalyptic gaming experience one can encounter in the mobile gaming market. The game uses many features from other post-apocalyptic games out there and combines them to deliver a different experience. In this Undawn Review, we will try and highlight the core offerings of the game and rate it fair and square.

Undawn offers elements from various post-apocalyptic titles of the past

To kick-start the Undawn Review we would like to start with the gameplay Undawn offers. Talking about the gameplay, Undawn does a great job of diversifying the key elements of the game. Not taking names but other post-apocalyptic games present in the market do not offer such a diversified experience.

Most games of this genre revolve around the players building a community from scratch having more settlers attracted to the community, and then protecting the base from incoming zombie attacks while also laying some importance on base-level progression. This is how most games are developed and follow the plot. Luckily for us, this is not the case with Undawn, as it allows players to experience the storyline more rather than just making the game a base-defending simulator.

Undawn offers gameplay that is very similar to Fallout and Days Gone, titles that are available for console and PC. As the game starts players are introduced to the Raven Squad which is a community in the wasteland comprising of fellow wastelanders and is trying its best to repair the damage done by the zombies marauding their world.

As the players go and explore the storyline they will explore how the community works and will be provided an opportunity to build a house for themselves. The housing feature will allow players to express their creativity and design their own houses from scratch. This adds a sandbox element to the game as it gives the players the freedom to build their own signature house in the community.

However building houses and having communities is not the only feature this game offers, the game follows the concept of post-apocalyptic survival just like other gaming titles namely Fallout as it involves enemies of all kinds such as zombies as well as humans which should be dealt with in the game. Additionally, resource management plays a big role in the game as well, where players might have to plunder resources from abandoned establishments or just simply loot them off the dead enemy’s body.

An average storyline with side-quests to keep players entertained

Next up in our Undawn Review, we would like to reflect our opinions on the storyline. The game, Undawn offers a very average storyline that revolves around surviving and making the communities stronger and better equipped to fend off the dangers posed to them by the undead.

Now as subjective as it may sound, the story could’ve been better with more focus on the narration and execution. Some missions and other story elements seem a bit off the plot and this makes the game deliver a bit of a bland gaming experience.

To make up for the main storyline’s shortcomings the developers have added multiple side quests in the game which can be explored and completed as per the player’s wish. However, these side quests are also as bland as some of the missions in the main storyline.

The concept of discovering these sidequests is pretty cool, as most of them are scattered along the map of the game, which is big, and players are needed to trigger them by interacting with the NPCs offering these quests. This draws inspiration from the console and PC game Days Gone which also had the same game setting.

Players are required to travel to different communities spread all across the world of Undawn and interact with NPCs to trigger these quests, this allows the players to discover the whole map of the game which they wouldn’t have done if there was no side quest in place. Overall it’s safe to say that the storyline fails to deliver the diversity of operations which the game reflects in its gameplay.

A bustling social experience but fails to deliver the same for the open world

The game, Undawn does a very good job of providing a very bustling social experience inside the guild where players can relax and can encounter many other different players hanging out while doing different activities such as having dinners and many such social experiences to make sure that players get a real-life gameplay experience. This enhances the gaming experience of the guild and makes sure that the players enjoy their time while in the guild.

The same however can’t be said for the open world of the game, while some of the other settlements in the game offer some side quests the other section of the map doesn’t offer much and feels a bit underdone. There are animals to hunt in the open but it all becomes really repetitive very soon.

One thing which the developers did manage to deliver with the open world is the availability of different scene styles, there are different terrains and scenes available within the map and this adds to the gaming experience.

Enjoy a detailed and complete character customization experience

The game, Undawn has a very robust character customization feature available for the fans to make use of. Due to this, it is really possible for players to have a character crafted inch perfectly to their needs and desire. The game offers a very detailed set of character models available in the game and it allows the players to have a wide choice available to customize how their avatar looks.

Undawn Review, Undawn

The game also makes a wide range of character-specific accessories available for the players to make use of. There are different armor, clothing, and headgear for the players to choose from. There are different tiers to the clothing as well, higher tiers of accessories can be unlocked only after a specific landmark is reached in the storyline.

Decent Soundtrack and music but lacks in the graphics section

Undawn actually has very good sound effects and provides good music for the gameplay in the background. The English voiceovers are also nicely done and fit the aura of the characters perfectly.

Undawn Review, Undawn
Image via Tencent

Music and Sound while being the most ignored section of a game can sometimes make or break the deal for the game in the way the players perceive it. By the looks of it, the developers seem to have got this issue under check as the game does a great job in this section.

While the game manages to deliver in the sound and music section, it really does not impress with the graphics. As hyped as the gaming title, undawn was before the launch we expected the game to deliver more buffed-up graphics in the game. However, that was not the case and the game has a bit outdated graphics, and frame drop issues here and there for such a big title being released in 2023. The gameplay however does cover up a bit of the shortcomings of the graphics as evident in this Undawn review.

Decent character controls but UI is oversaturated with buttons

The game, Undawn offers very decent character controls, where players can fully control and manage the actions of their character. There is rarely a choppy animation or movement of characters in the game and the movement overall looks very neatly done. The button layout, however, needed attention from the developer team as at the first go the players will be overwhelmed with the numbers. For someone with large fingers, they might find it hard to tap the right buttons. As usual, the layout can be customised and this adds much-needed flexibility for the players to enjoy the gameplay.

IAPs still rule over the wasteland with weapons and potions to offer

While the game is free to play for everyone in the market, still there are some in-app purchases that can actually help in easing off the difficulty level in the game and deliver that extra edge that can help really well in the PvP battles.

In PvE battles these upgrades may not be needed that much but in the PvP battles, every single addition of points in the Damage Per Second points can make a huge difference. There are different guns, boosts, potions, and other pieces of equipment that can provide extra firepower and better defense stats in the battles.

Final Verdict

The game, Undawn succeeds in delivering a well-developed and well-structured survival post-apocalyptic mobile gaming experience. There was a void in the genre for a game to provide a holistic post-apocalyptic experience, while Undawn has some of its shortcomings and points to be worked upon.

It is definitely one of the better games of this genre available in the market and is a step in the right direction to provide the perfect game for this genre. With that being said, we hope that with this Undawn Review, we were able to rate this game perfectly and do it justice.
