Aether Gazer Review: An enthralling RPG with a robust combat system

Assemble your squad and head on for an adventure!

Aether Gazer is a new gacha action RPG title by Yostar Games. The game is a Gacha title that offers many characters and features to deliver an engaging experience for the players. Aether Gazer offers a fluid RPG where players can make use of the different powers and features of characters according to their strategy and will. The game provides a post-apocalyptic game setting where players are required to battle the deadly creatures called Visabens and protect humanity from getting extinct. With the game offering so much for players, we will try and review it in our Aether Gazer Review.

Aether Gazer offers very fluid gameplay including a robust combat system

Starting off with the Aether Gazer Review, the game offers a very well-developed and designed combat system that allows the players to have a great experience in the game. The overall gameplay is very polished and fun, each animation used during the battles seems well-designed and not forced just to make the gameplay look better. The gameplay is sort of the usual hack and slashes with the addition of the special powerups that are available with the characters.

Before the battles, players have the option of customizing and making their teams however during the battle, players are able to control only the primary character the other two are AI controlled and offer fire support to the main character. This has both pros and cons, however, it does make the gameplay more straightforward and easy to understand.

Aether Gazer promotes team building with its well-developed arsenal of characters

The game, Aether Gazer offers a well-defined and developed set of characters with each offering differ not powerups well suited for different types of gameplay. Having different sets of characters in the game is a pre-requisite for new games to succeed these days as it adds not just more characters for the players to choose from but also gives the game an even more solid personality.

Aether Gazer does a great job at it, the characters are well differentiated and each character adds something different to the roster of the game. The overlap of powerups and abilities in the game is minimal and this makes each character unique. Due to the unique offerings from each character in the game, team composition also plays a huge part in a player’s success in the game.

When the team synergy is high and all characters are well-compatible with each other, the ultimate skill chain effect can be activated. Ultimate chain skill is a special team-based skill that can inflict heavy damage and turn the odds in the player’s favor.

The game offers an average storyline which at times becomes repetitive

The game offers a storyline divided into different chapters in the game, and while the game starts on the right foot with solid character development and unique mission design it really struggles to maintain the trend down the line. The story really starts to stretch down the line making it a little hard to connect for the players with the actions and events from the earlier section of the game.

To make matters even worse the side missions and some of the middle missions in the main storyline also start to feel repetitive with more like similar activities to do in the game. Overall the story still seems solid and the repetitiveness in the story mode gets overshadowed by the fluidity and graphics of the gameplay.

Aether Gazer offers decent character control and UI layout

The game offers a decent control mechanism for the players to control the character which results in the game offering great and fluid gameplay and a well-developed combat system. The problem in games of this specific genre like Aether Gazer is the choppy movement and button layout, however, Aether Gazer does a great job in this department and manages to deliver a solid UI layout for the players.

Aether Gazer has very appealing visuals that match the game setting perfectly

Aether Gazer has some of the best visuals that players can expect in the action RPGs in the industry. The graphics combined with the fluid gameplay make it one of the best options players can go for in the specific game genre. The effects and visuals that the game uses in the battle sequences fit perfectly with the action and allow the players to have an interactive experience.

The game despite having great visuals for the players to experience still doesn’t require very fancy hardware to run the game. This goes to show the efforts the developers made to make sure that the game is well-optimized for even lower-end devices. The game offers gameplay similar to Punishing Gray Raven and Honkai Impact 3rd.

The game seriously lacks in the in-game sound effects department

While the game is a visual treat for Hack and Slash RPG fans, the game doesn’t have a solid sound effect system in place for the gameplay. Sound effects in a game are equally important as are the graphics as they add personality to the game and make it more engaging and interactive for the players to enjoy. However, the game, Aether Gazer struggles big time in this regard as the sound effects in the gameplay really don’t keep up with the amazing visuals of the game.

While playing, players will feel the lack of sound design for special moments in the game. All of this while might seem like a minute issue, can really spoil the fun especially when there is so much action going on in the game at every moment. In genres like Hack and Slash to which Aether Gazer belongs sound effects matter a lot and can be considered a valuable addition to the gameplay.

There is no shortage of in-app purchases to lure players into purchasing

Aether Gazer has a lot of options in the store for the players to spend their real-time currency on, ranging from character-summoning tokens to in-game currencies. Aether Gazer despite being a free-to-play game, makes it hard for players to progress further in the game without in-game purchases.

Now, while it is not necessary for players to purchase goodies from the item shop but it still definitely helps to ease up the levels by buffing the characters for having a relatively easier run in the game. There are multiple tokens and currencies available in the store through which players can purchase in-game buffs and boosts.

Final Verdict

The game, Aether Gazer is a worthy Hack and Slash title that offers very detailed and well-developed gameplay featuring unique battle moves and powerups. The game is best for those who like to engage themselves in strategic RPG games where each character brings something extra to the team and new compositions can be decided based on each character. We hope that with our Aether Gazer Review, we were able to do the game justice and rate it fairly.
