Mobile Legends Carmilla Guide: Best Build, Emblem and Gameplay Tips

In this guide, we’re going to take a look at the newest addition to the Mobile Legends roster, Carmilla. As a tanky support Hero, she specializes in Initiation as well as Crowd Control. Even though her carry potential is somewhat gated by her role as support, Carmilla’s kit arguably consists of really powerful spells. So without further ado, let’s get right into it:

Abilities

Vampire Pact

Carmilla steals 10-20 Physical & Magic Defense (scales with level) from the enemies while dealing damage to them. Each target can be stolen only once in 5s. The stolen Physical & Magic Defense can be stacked up to 5 times. Lasts for 5s.

One of the main reasons for her being a support, Carmilla’s passive effectively increases the damage dealt to enemies. Over the course of a teamfight, she can shred through a ton of defensive stats. This hurts especially squishies who don’t build any resistances at all and basically receive True Damage.

At the same time, Vampire Pact makes Carmilla reasonably tanky even without high defensive stats. At max stacks, her passive will provide a total of 100 Defense each, which is more than any item in the game can grant you.

Crimson Flower (9s)

Carmilla increases 25% movement speed and summons 2 Crimson Flowers to spin around herself, lasting for 5s. Enemies hit by the Crimson Flowers will receive 120 / 150 / 180 / 210 / 240 / 270 (+50% Total Magic PowerMagic Damage and be slowed down by 30%. Meanwhile, the spinning speed of the Crimson Flowers will be increased for 0.8s.
Each time the Crimson Flowers deal damage to enemies, Carmilla will restore 60 / 75 / 90 / 105 / 120 / 135 (+25% Total Magic Power) HP. (If the target is a minion, restores 30% of this amount only.)

Crimson Flower allows Carmilla to be a real terror early on. Paired with Vampire Pact, she becomes insanely sustainable, especially during the early game. The lifesteal from this ability lets you skirmish without losing any health during the early stages while the slow also makes it even easier to stick to targets.

Bloodbath (12-8)

Carmilla accumulates Bloodbath Energy, greatly increasing her Movement Speed by 60% (decays rapidly in 3.5s).

Use Again: Carmilla casts Bloodbath Energy to a designated enemy (can’t target at the minion), dealing 150 /180 /210 / 240 / 270 / 300 (+120% Total Magic PowerMagic Damage and stunning the enemy for 0.75s.
The damage and the stunning time scale with the Bloodbath Energy accumulation capped at 100%.

Her main mobility spell also provides a powerful single-target stun to disable enemies. Pretty straight-forward, Bloodbath allows Carmilla to fly across the Battlefield and helps to get on-top of slippery targets.

When you were already annoyed by Hylos, Carmilla lets him look tame in comparison.

Curse of Blood (45-30)

Carmilla casts Curse of Blood in a designated direction. The Curse will spread out from the enemy hit to nearby enemy heroes, dealing 275 /400 / 525 (+160% Total Magic PowerMagic Damage and slowing them down by 90% for 5s (decays rapidly to 30% in 3s).

The curse can be inflicted to up to 3 targets at the same time.
As long as one target with the Curse of Blood is damaged or controlled, the other influenced targets will also receive damage and CC effect (damage decreases to 70%, CC duration decreased to 50%).

This is what makes Carmilla a pain in more coordinated games against pre-mades. Her ultimate not only slows down several targets, but also debuffs up to 3 targets to share damage and CC effects. Therefore, wombo-combos work incredibly well.

Just imagine shredding through everyone’s defense and then chain-CC-ing them with the likes of Aurora, Hanabi or Pharsa. Pretty scary, huh?

Emblem

Coming to the optimal Emblems for Carmilla in our Mobile Legends guide, you actually have a broad variety of options. Tank, Support and Mage Emblem all work really well and mostly depend on your playstyle and the role you’re fulfilling on your team.

Tank Emblem will provide additional defensive stats and make you even more sustainable in fights at the cost of lower damage. Make sure to put points in extra HP and CDR. All 3 talents synergize well with Carmilla’s kit.

On the other hand, the Mage Emblem will provide you a ton of offensive stats with no defense in exchange. While again, all Talents can be used reasonably well, you want to put Talent points into Magic Lifesteal and CDR or Movement Speed.

If you want the happy medium, the Support Emblem will grant a healthy mix of stats. Again, put Talent points into Movement Speed or CDR and go for Hybrid Regen. However, this time Focusing Mark is arguably the most valuable Talent to go with.

Spells

Before coming to Items, we’ll quickly address the best Spell options in our Mobile Legends Carmilla guide:

Flicker

Due to no mobility outside of her speedboosts, you can easily find yourself in trouble when your second skill is cooling down. Flicker lets you escape tricky situations but also allows to close the gap to slippery targets for engaging. Never a bad choice, especially if you’re new to Carmilla, since you won’t get punished for overstepping your welcome.

Vengeance & Revitalize

Vengeance helps you to stay in combat for even longer while also dealing a good amount of damage. It requires some practice to make the most out of it but provides a lot of combat power for yourself

Revitalize on the other hand works better as a defensive and supportive choice. Not only will it help you sustain, but it might also save your teammates and can work wonders in clumped up teamfights. It also has nice synergy with Oracle, but more about Carmilla’s items later on.

Execute

The most aggressive choice that you can go for, Execute helps to finish off low HP targets. What makes it so great on Carmilla is the synergy with her ultimate, since linked targets will receive 70% of the damage as well. Arguably the best choice if you feel confident in your abilities and like an aggressive playstyle.

Items

Similar to Emblems, Carmilla has a lot of freedom when it comes to Itemization. Whatever you decide to go with, just make sure not to go with a full mage build unless smurfing. As a melee character, you’ll get blown up before you can approach the enemy later on.

Core Items

No doubt that Oracle is among the best Items for Carmilla. Not only does it provide great stats with HP, CDR and Magic Defense, it also makes you even more sustainable. Brute Force Breastplate also supplements her kit incredibly well; you gain a ton of bonus defense while also providing you even more Movement Speed whenever you use a skill. The base stats are nice to have, but really you’re buying the item for its passive.

If you decide to go for a more hybrid approach, you definitely want to incorporate Concentrated Energy and Glowing Wand. While the former obviously grants you a ton of bonus sustain with a reasonable amount of HP, the latter lets you proc Vampire Pact with the HP burn effect (scorch).

Generic Good Items

If you play the Support role, make sure to always rush the Wooden Mask and eventually upgrade it to Shadow Mask to enhance your engage. In case that you did go with some Mage items, make sure to get Oracle and Brute Force Breastplate afterwards. However, if you went with the conventional build, you can opt for Antique Cuirass to also reduce the enemy’s offensive strength. Athena’s Shield is the way to go against comps with high magic damage while you might want Twilight Armor against bursty physical damage.

Generally speaking, you want to adapt to the situation and build whatever feels most helpful. Against someone like Claude for example, you might still want Blade Armor despite having a good amount of Physical Defense already.

Gameplay

Last but not least, our Mobile Legends guide will take a quick look at how your gameplay should look like with Carmilla.

Early Game

While it somewhat depends on your role, you want to play aggressively early on. Crimson Flowers makes you a potent duelist in sidelanes and a good skirmisher if you’re midlane as support. Make sure to stay within creep waves and enemies to heal up and you’ll definitely win every trade. Especially when paired with another aggressive Hero such as Khufra, Kimmy or Granger, you should look to fight or invade early to get an advantage.

Just be careful if the enemy has heavy CC (or a Franco who might hook-flicker you under the turret) or strong kiting – if you cannot lifesteal off enemies, you will die rather quickly.

Mid Game

Once you reach level 4, try to coordinate with your team to make plays. Most mages have some form of burst or CC while Tanks provide additional initiation and lockdown, therefore you’re pretty much guaranteed some wombo-combo potential. Especially with some additional regen (whether you built Oracle or Concentrated Energy), you can engage and stay within the enemy for quite a long time due to loads of additional resistances and sustain.

Due to Carmilla’s high Movement Speed, you can easily pick off careless Marksmen or Mages farming sidelanes. The stun of her second skill lasts reasonably long and usually suffices to kill a squishy target. Afterwards, you can easily pressure objectives and turn on the enemies with your ultimate still available.

Late Game

You cannot recklessly engage anymore since a fed Marksman or Mage can easily blow you up – this is especially true if you didn’t opt for a purely defensive build. Ideally you want to wait for your Tank to engage and instantly follow up to make sure the enemies get chain-CC’ed. Alternatively, you can still look for picks because not every enemy is patient enough to wait for you to show on the Map.

Make sure to activate your Spell early in case you went with Revitalize or Vengeance, just to make sure you don’t get burst instantly.

Also, look to counter-engage if the enemy starts a fight. Usually, they will blow a lot of important cooldowns to finish off a target, which means you have more room to engage and get close without fearing to get blown up. Prioritize squishies or whoever has the highest value for the enemy team. It can be alright to engage onto Tanks if you can chain them to priority targets.

Try to ambush whenever possible and pressure Lord once you have the numbers advantage. And as always, don’t die, kill the enemy, win the game.
