Mobile Legends Aurora Guide: Best Build, Emblem and Gameplay tips

In this Mobile Legends Hero guide, we will take a look at mage Aurora, Queen of the North. Aurora, born in a windstorm and having great power of controlling ice and snow, is the queen of the northernmost land Nost Gal. She’s rarely picked, however, having her in a team as a second mage/support is very helpful in team fights as she provides large AoE Crowd Control and Burst for the team to finish enemies off. She holds very high potential, and she’s quite easy to play with. In this article, we are going to guide you about how to master Aurora in Mobile Legends.

We have previously discussed how to master playing with other Mobile Legends heroes like Yu Zhong, Luo Yi, Wanwan, Pharsa, Carmilla, Hayabusa, Atlas. So make sure to check these hero guides as well. For now, let’s focus on Aurora.

Abilities

Aurora has 4 types of ability or skills which she can perform, including her passive. Let’s see how you can use those abilities for the best of effects.

Passive – Pride of Ice

This is Aurora’s passive ability. Each time her skill is cast, one unit of frost energy will be added to Aurora. When 4 units of frost energy are collected, the next damage of her skill will Freeze the target. Lasts 1.5 seconds. Aurora deals 30% increased damage to targets in Frozen status with her skills.

This hard CC needs a simple frost energy management. Make sure she has at least 2 frost energy charged at all times. Spam her skills to nothing while you are walking to anywhere, or use her skills to minions to charge frost energy. When enemies are missing from the map, keep your charges at maximum in case they come for ganks. If you are very sure that enemies are not coming to gank you (all 5 enemies can be seen on map/respawning) feel free to use the freeze against minions and don’t save up your charge to clear waves faster.

Ability 1 – Frost Shock

Cooldown: 4 seconds

Aurora fires a Frost Energy Missle, which, upon hitting enemies, it will detonate and deal 300/360/420/480/540/600 (+130% Total Magic Power) points of Magic Damage and slow enemies by 25%. Lasts 1.5 seconds.

This skill acts as your main spell to charge frost energy because its cooldown is very low and you can cast it to nothing. It also can be used to poke enemy heroes due to long skill range. Bear in mind to aim this skill manually and reposition yourself before casting this skill because it will explode upon hitting the first target(even minions). Make sure the way to your target is clear from any other unit. This skill should be maxed first.

Ability 2 – Bitter Frost

Cooldown: 11 seconds

Aurora deals 530/590/650/710/70/830 (+180% Total Magic Power) points of Magic Damage at designated target and slows the target by 80%. Lasts 1.5 seconds.

Single target skill that slows your target to almost immobile. Aim this skill manually or lock targeted hero before using this skill as it also can be casted to minions. The casting time is immediate but the range is very short. Best used as an initiator(with Freeze) against an alone enemy, or to enemies that dive the backline during teamfights. Very useful if used against Fanny.

Ability 3 – Cold Destruction

Cooldown: 30-40 seconds

Aurora summons a giant icy rock to bombard a designated target location, and all enemies hit will take 900/1100/1300 (+180% Total Magic Power) points of Magic Damage and be slowed by 90%. Lasts 1.5 seconds. Surrounding enemies of the target will also take 450/50/650 (+90% Total Magic Power) points of Magic Damage and slowed by 60%. Lasts 1.5 seconds.

Very large AoE ultimate that guarantees a win in a team fight if you managed to Freeze most enemy heroes but it’s easy to dodge with dash or blink skills since the target location can be seen by enemies before the skill is cast. Usually used as follow up after freezing enemy with skill 2 to inflict more damage (1690 damage in Frozen state!) but if fighting against a group of enemies, it’s better to freeze them all using ultimate and let your teammates finish them off. Make sure to aim this skill manually because it can be cast on anything and everything including minions, creeps, land, and air. Upgrade this skill whenever possible.

Best Emblem Set for Aurora

Mage emblem suits best for Aurora compared to other emblems. Max Agility in talent tier 1 since Aurora needs movement speed so she can constantly reposition herself during teamfights and the speed boost is helpful for her to travel to where the teamfight is happening. For talent tier 2, max Catastrophe if you are looking to deal massive damage or Contract if you need more sustain, depending on your playstyle.

As for talents, use first talent Mystery Shop to get her core items faster so she can be helpful in teamfights faster. Or you can use third talent Impure Rage for the extra damage and mana restoration during the early game. Magic Worship is not recommended because Aurora doesn’t deal continuous damage. Either first or third talent is good, but we prefer the first talent Mystery Shop.

If you don’t have Mage emblem or its level is still low, use the Common Magic Emblem or Support Emblem.

Best Spells for Aurora

Aurora lacks mobility, hence the spells recommended are mostly for her to escape or chase dying enemies. In this guide, let’s take a look at the best spells for Aurora in Mobile Legends.

Flicker

If all skills are in cooldown and enemies are chasing you, it’s time to flicker away. If you don’t have teammates around, run away to a safe place. It’s best not to be targetted because Aurora is very squishy. Flicker can also be used to chase the dying enemy. Use flicker then skill 2 when you’re confident that one shot can kill the enemy or there’s a teammate to finish the enemy off. Don’t do this if you are alone or against more than one enemy.

Sprint

Another alternative for escape is Sprint. If you’re caught in the middle of a teamfight without any backup, Sprint can be used to run to a safe place if you managed to land your skills at the enemy. It also can be used to chase the dying enemy like Flicker.

Purify

Once you get CC-ed, you can do nothing other than waiting to die. Purify is a good spell to escape from CC skills and respond with your skills for a safer escape for you and your teammates. Pick purify over other spells if the enemy team has a lot CC.

Flameshot

Flameshot can push the enemy back if they are close enough, and slow enemy other than giving decent magic damage, enough for Aurora to finish him or run away (only if the skill hits). If you aim it right, you can kill dying enemy without chasing them, or help in teamfights in a very safe distance.

Best Builds for Aurora

Aurora is very item dependent especially during late game. It’s important to pick the correct items for her. You can choose a build using both core and generic items for Aurora.

Core items

  • Enchanted Talisman (ET): It is the first item you want to get after a basic boots. ET’s 20% CDR enables Aurora to cast her skills much more frequent in the early game. The Mana Spring passive also solves her mana management problem and you can start spamming her skills. This item solves two problems (CD & mana) and gets her online very fast since it’s cheap!
  • Ice Queen Wand (IQW): IQW is very important since all Aurora’s skills have slow effects and stacking it with IQW further slows them. The additional movement speed helps Aurora to roam and magic lifesteal helps her to sustain. Get IQW after building full boots.

After getting these two items (with boots), you can pretty much win the game with Aurora if you play her correctly.

Generic items

  • Rapid Boots: It is the most useful as it gives a massive boost in movement speed that enables Aurora to roam to where teamfight is happening. Arcane Boots works too to result in more magic damage.
  • Lightning Truncheon: This item gives Aurora more CDR and burst damage with its passive. Buy this item if enemy’s assassin and marksman don’t see you as a threat. Divine Glaive also gives a burst potential to Aurora. You can also replace these items with Fleeting Time if you are looking for more CDR and casting ultimate more frequently.

If you are getting targeted first in team fights, buy Winter Truncheon for its active when enemies are attacking you. Blood Wings also is helpful to increase your HP other than a very high magic power boost.

If enemy team composition has regen heroes like Uranus, Estes, Esmeralda, and Rafaela, you are the perfect hero to build Necklace of Durance. It’s a well-rounded item (decent magic power, CDR, magic lifesteal) that helps against regen heroes.

Gameplay tips for Aurora

You need a proper gameplan for a hero to win any fight. This Mobile Legends guide includes the perfect gameplan for Aurora in the early, middle and late-game.

Early game

Clear minions in mid lane and poke enemy hero when there’s chance. Aurora’s damage is pretty high early game and her skill 1 range is very long so don’t be afraid to poke. Don’t try to get kills if you are alone.

Give the blue buff to assassin or main mage, only take the buff with tank/support if nobody takes it. Aurora is very slow at farming so it’s better to get gold by clearing minion waves.

Never go anywhere alone throughout the game, always be with at least one teammate.

Mid game

After getting her core items, you want to keep helping in teamfight. Before joining a teamfight, make sure that enemy assassin is not targeting you, and keep your distance from the frontline. Help to slow enemies while keeping your distance safe and use ultimate with Freeze when enemies are clumped together.

The best strategy is to hide in the bush with teammate(s), wait for approaching enemy, freeze with skill 2 and let your teammates finish him off. Use skill 1 or ultimate only if needed. Casting skills in the bush also disengages enemies from targeting her unless they go into the bush.

Late game

By this time enemy assassin probably will attack from behind and target you first so be very wary and ready with skill 2 + Freeze. In the late game, you want to have max frost energy charge at all time and you should not expose yourself in the map by hiding in a bush most of the time when your skills are in cooldown. Be visible only when casting spells during teamfights.

Late game is Aurora’s most vulnerable phase because she is very squishy without teammates’ protection and can never win a 1v1 against anyone other than squishy heroes. Never push alone throughout the game especially late game because Aurora clear wave is quite slow, and the enemy sees Aurora as an easy target. Always be with your teammates and always be there during team fights.

Overall, playing with Aurora creates a big impact especially when enemies get caught in Frozen state. As long as you play safe, keep distance, and be there for every team fights, Aurora will never disappoint you.

That’s all we have for today’s Mobile Legends Aurora guide about her abilities, best emblems, items, spells and gameplan for her. Hope you have a good time using Aurora now!
