Mobile Legends Freya Guide: Best Build, Emblems and Gameplay Tips

Its time to protect the Northern Vale till the last breath

Freya, the Valkyrie from Northern Vale folks, is a fighter in Mobile Legends. She is an extremely strong and tanky fighter. Freya is obtained when players do first diamond recharge in the game, so she is kind of exclusive in the game. She recently got popularity when the developers revamped her, making her one of the strongest heroes in the game. She has huge damage dealing with physical attacks with skills enhancing her attack and giving her shield. Freya has buff, burst, shield, AoE (what is she not having?). She was the Valkyrie SHE Devil which cannot be killed. The developers soon balanced her stats but even after that, she is good to play in Mythic level. Here’s our guide to help you in getting the best out of Freya in Mobile Legends

We have previously discussed how to master playing with other Mobile Legends heroes like Ling, WanwanPharsaCarmillaHayabusaAtlasLuo YiYu Zhong, Khaleed. So make sure to check these hero guides as well. For now, let’s focus on Freya.

Skill analysis

Freya possesses 4 skills, including her passive. In this Freya guide, let’s see what are her abilities in Mobile Legends, and when you can use which skill to get the best out of her.

Passive – Power Of Einherjar (Burst)

After casting a skill, Freya greatly increases her Attack Speed for the next 2  Basic Attack. This effect has 6 stacks at most. Freya gains a stack of Sacred Orb for every 2  Basic Attack. By sacrificing different amounts of Sacred Orb, Freya can enhance her skills:  Leap of Faith and Spirit Ward.

The passive of Freya makes her the fearsome fighter she is. The passive skill increases her attack speed due to which she does high damage doing just basic attacks. It also supports her first and second skills by enhancing their effect.

Skill 1 – Leap of Faith (CC, Blink)

Freya jumps to a designated area, dealing 200 / 220 / 240 / 260 / 280 / 300 (+75% Extra Physical Attack) Physical Damage to enemies in the area and pulling them to the center.

Sacred Orb Enhanced:  When Freya has 1 Sacred Orb, this skill will consume it and increase the damage to 150%, extending the area of effect and stunning enemies in the area for 0.5 second

You can use the first active skill of Freya in many situations. First, you will have to use it to charge/initiate an attack. Second, to chase and catch escaping enemies. Third, to escape from tough situations. This skill of Freya is one of the best skills present in the game among all heroes. The skill also has many uses such as targetting damage dealing enemies like Assassins or Marksman in a team fight and disabling the ultimate skill of mages like Odette, PharsaThe skill is most effective when the stacks of Sacred Orb are full.

Skill 2 – Spirit Combo (Burst, Blink, Phased)

Freya dashes forward and gains a shield that can absorb 160 / 180 / 200 / 220 / 240 / 260(+70% Extra Physical Attack), while dealing 130 / 150 / 170 / 190 / 210 / 230(+90% Total Physical Attack)Physical Damage to the enemies and slowing them by 30% for 0.5 seconds.

Sacred Orb Enhanced: This skill can be recast in 4 seconds at the cost of 1 Sacred Orb with the maximum cost of 3 Sacred Orbs if she casts all 4 phases of this skill.

The skill’s 2nd and 3rd phase will have the same damage and effects of this skill’s 1st phase. At the 4th cast, Freya will swing her hammer, increasing the damage to 195 / 225 / 255 / 285 / 315 / 345(+135% Total Physical Attack) and knocking the enemies airborne for 0.5 seconds.

The most tricky and used skill of Freya, Spirit Combo is a phased attack skill with a total of four phases. It is important to do Basic Attacks in between the phases, as the basic attack speed is increased when the skill is active and also with every two basic attacks Sacred Orbs are stacked. The skill also creates a shield for Freya and slows the enemies, so it can be used to initiate a fight. And the 4th phase of the skill can stun the enemies in the whole area of impact, so it can be used to catch the escaping enemies. Effective use of this skill is what makes Freya deadly, and that can be done using basic attack and the skill in perfect synergy.

Ultimate Skill – Valkyrie Descent (Morph, Shield)

Freya gains 3 Sacred Orbs and enters Valkyrie State for 10 seconds:

Freya gains a shield that can absorb 600 / 750 / 900(+180% Total Physical Attack) damage and increase her Physical Attack by 30 / 50 / 70. Her Basic Attack also becomes ranged and can deal Splash Damage

The Ultimate of Freya is best to be used during a fight, giving her the shield and increase damage. At that moment, the enemy generally tries to escape but Freya now has ranged attack, so most of the time the enemies get killed due to this feature.

Mobile Legends Freya Tips

Freya can go for head-on attack right from the start of the game, without killing any minions or monsters. She is very strong at the beginning of the game and can take any hero class, even a two on one fight. But it is also important that a proper flow of engagement is followed in case of Freya as she can be used in fights throughout the duration of the match. Our Freya guide includes the perfect gameplan for the early, middle, and late-game in Mobile Legends.

Early Game

In the early game, head for the top lane and cut through the lane to kill the minions before they reach enemy turret. Most probable chance is that the enemy MM and Tank would be killing the buff and will not engage with you. Then, if possible, kill the jungle monster there and retreat. Engage with enemies if they are alone else retreat and take support from the middle lane to attack. The strategy with Freya is to be aggressive, but she may need little support from the middle lane heroes.

With playing aggressive and attacking, Freya should also farm the jungle monster and the minion wave alone in the top lane. If possible, rotate Freya between Top and Mid lane and don’t keep any idle monster or minions. Therefore, the swift attribute of the emblem is very crucial for Freya. Also, try to sneak out the Turtle, if it pops out on that side.

Being on the Top lane also means that, Freya would not allow the enemy MM to farm fast. And once enemy MM is slow, the match is very much in your side.

Mid Game

In Midgame Freya is used to support the Damage dealers to get kills and also to initiate the charge. You can also use Freya to steal turret as the second skill will increase the basic attack speed. So, making use of this skill to steal turret is very effective.

During Mid Game, Freya is still good with taking damage and camp out single opponents and kill them. By this way she can really slow the enemy damage dealers from levelling up.

In this stage, she can very effectively kill all the opponents in a team fight, if she joins a bit late, just after the first wave of skill is used by the opponents. This is where most of the Freya users get ‘Maniac’ and ‘Savage’.

Late Game

Late game of Freya is to complete the objective that is winning the match by stealing chances. In late game, almost all enemy heroes are levelled up and can deal effective damage. Freya cannot initiate the charge now. It has to be done by the tank in the team. Freya would now target and get the opponent damage dealers when they are busy on our tank. Due to the tanky feature, she can chase the MM or Assassin of the opponent when rest of the team is busy in team fight.

Also, don’t drag the game much when using Freya, especially when your damage dealers aren’t doing well. Try to finish the game as soon as possible when using Freya.

Final thoughts

Freya is one of the best fighter heroes to play with. She is strong right from the start of the match and can gank opponents right away. She has the capability of winning matches alone, despite not being a typical damage dealer. Being one of the exclusive characters in the game, she is having one of the best stats a character can have. Freya is good through out the game. She can clear lanes, steal monsters, kill lord and go for kills. She can play almost all the roles in a team.
