Mobile Legends Lunox Guide: Best Build, Emblem and Gameplay Tips

Come and join me, in my dream world

Mobile Legends Bang Bang’s Lunox is one of the best damage mages in the game. She was released back in September 2018 and for a long time, she was the best mage pick and favorite to all until she was nerfed a little but her effectiveness on the battlefield remains the same. So in the recent patches, she was buffed and came to the meta spot. Lunox if played well can easily dominate the game as she is capable of dueling with a lot of heroes and is high damage with a lot of regen and poke. In this guide, we will take a look at the best emblem, spell, build, including tips and tricks to pave your way to victory with Lunox in Mobile Legends.

We have previously discussed how to master playing with other Mobile Legends heroes like MiyaLing, WanwanPharsaCarmillaSilvanna, HayabusaAtlasLuo YiYu Zhong, Aurora, Khaleed, Freya, Khufra, X.Borg, Lesley, Tigreal, Hylos, Valir, Cecilion, Lylia, Uranus, Barats, Odette, Angela, Vale, Rafaela, Hanzo, Esmeralda, Brody, Lapu-Lapu, Nana, Benedetta, Hilda, Mathilda, Selena, Miya, Jawhead, Chou, Paquito, and Thamuz. So make sure to check these hero guides as well. For now, let’s focus on Lunox.

Skill Analysis

Lunox mainly has 4 sets of skills along with a passive for both of her forms. For light form, she can mainly poke and regen her HP lost and is tanky in nature. Especially using the light form ultimate she can dodge any CC and squishy situations. On the other hand, the dark form is totally for damage. With her dark form ultimate, she can deal a huge amount of damage to a target enemy and can finish them off easily. So let’s look into the skill sets separately. In this Lunox guide, let’s see what are his abilities in Mobile Legends, and when you can use which skill to get the best out of him.

Passive – Dreamland Twist

Lunox has lost all sense of time and reality and as a result, she does not benefit from Cooldown Reduction. However, any Cooldown Reduction will have different effects depending on her current Power.

  • Power of Order: Lunox will gain 2 Physical Defense and Magical Defense for every 1% Cooldown Reduction. Lunox’s ultimate will be set to Power of Order: Brilliance.
  • Power of Chaos: Lunox will gain 1.5% Magic Penetration for every 1% Cooldown Reduction. Lunox’s ultimate will be set to Power of Chaos: Darkening.

While Lunox can have a maximum of 2 Stacks of Chaos and Order, their respective effects are fully activated even with 1 Stack.

Skill 1 – Starlight Pulse

In this skill she summons a rain of starlight on targeted enemies and deals magical damage to them while recovering 60 HP per hit. It gets doubled when this skill hits enemy heroes. You can also use this skill to shift in light mode. Hitting this skill will bring you to light form every time.

Skill 2 – Chaos Assault

In this skill, the locked enemy hero gets hit by chaos energy burst where she deals heavy damage depending on the magical power and slows down the enemy by 10%. This skill is also the dark mode shifter. You can also use this skill t shift her from light mode to dark mode while dealing damage to the nearby enemy heroes.

Skill 3 – Cosmic Fission

This is an AoE type skill where she deals huge damage to the enemies in range of the skill and slows them down. One of the best finishing skills or this the best skill to finish the enemy off. This is a neutral skill and doesn’t shift you to modes.

Skill 4 – Ultimate

Lunox has interestingly 2 ultimates. One is for the light form and the other is for the dark form.

  • Light form Ultimate (Brillance): When Lunox is in the light form she has this ultimate which allows her to transform herself in an invulnerable state for 3s. She also deals a decent amount of continuous damage while in this state. While in this state Lunox can move freely and is immune to all kinds of CC.
  • Dark form Ultimate (Darkening): This skill is the only reason why many players still fear Lunox. This skill allows her to cast skill 2 or Chaos Assault continuously for 8s without any cooldown. This also provides a lot of health regen and massive damage on the target while locked on.
  • Both the ultimates have their own cooldown time but they cannot be cast back to back. The casting period of one ultimate after the other has its own cooldown time too which is 10s approx.

Skill up Methods for Lunox

Start the game with taking skill 1 first as it is the basic source of damage for lunox. Then take skill 2 as the main AoE damage source. Upgrade skill 1 to max as fast as possible as it will reduce the cooldown time. Upgrade skill 2 to level 3 before maxing out skill 1.

Best Emblem Set and Spells for Lunox in Mobile Legends

Emblem Set

The Custom Mage Emblem is highly recommended for Lunox. Set the emblem as follows.

  • Agility (+3)
  • Observation (+3)
  • Impure Rage
Mobile Legends Lunox Guide

Impure Rage is recommended as its provides extra magic damage to the enemy which is 4% of the targets current HP and restores 3% mana.

Spells

The best battle spell to play Lunox is Flicker. As Lunox has no dedicated dash skill Flicker is the best spell to get away from risky situations. You can also use Sprint for the same purpose, but don’t pick sprint against high mobility heroes. Go for Purify for Lunox. If the enemy team has CC like Silvanna or Atlas. If you wanna hyper with Lunox Retribution is the best spell to go for.

Best Builds for Lunox in Mobile Legends

Support Build

So Lunox can be played both as support and core-based o the equipment items and rotation. We gonna describe both plays here. For support play, Lunox needs a little sustain along with heavy damage so we recommend you this build.

Mobile Legends Lunox Guide

First, take the Demon Shoes as it gives the initial mana boost needed when you’re not prioritizing Blue or Purple Buff. After that take the Lightning Truncheon and Clock of Destiny combo. It will increase the magical damage and will give extra mana which because of the clock of destiny gets converted into additional damage. These are also the core items for Lunox so try to complete it fast as possible, before taking other items. After that take Concentrated energy will increase the magical lifesteal and will provide additional HP. Then take “Fleeting Time”. It will reduce the cooldown so that you can deal as much damage as you can.

Damage Build

Mobile Legends Lunox Guide

For this, you need heavy damage along with huge magical penetration so that you can melt tanks in a go. Therefore, for this, you can use these items.

First take the Demon Shoes, Lighting Truncheon, and Clock of Destiny as the core items. These will provide the necessary damage for Lunox in the early and mid-game. Then pick Divine Glaive. You might be thinking that it is useless for Lunox as her passive already gives all the necessary magical penetration but to counter heavy magic resistance items her passive only cannot handle and just because of that you can lose some game-changing ganks. So Divine Glaive is important in the starting of the late game to beak down heavy magic resisting enemies. After that pick Holy Crystal and Blood Wings to complete the build.

Mobile Legends Lunox Gameplay Tips

Lunox is best played in the mid lane. So tell your teammates to rotate down in the mid if the enemy marks you from the start. According to her gameplay, we can break it down into three phases. Our Mobile Legends Lunox guide includes the perfect game plan for the early, mid, and late game in the game. However, a player must need a good understanding of the map to bring the best out of any hero.

Early Game

If you are playing Lunox as support or main you should start the game in the mid lane as it is the best lane for mages to play in. Continue clearing the minion wave in the mid. Or support them rotate to your main damage dealer and help him. If you’re playing main, then take the blue buff and clear the second minion wave.

Mobile Legends Lunox Guide

Don’t gank before you reach level 4. After clearing the second minion wave rotate to top or bottom depending on the placement of the turtle. Take the gold crab and help in clearing the minion wave. Start hitting the turtle. The enemy will surely rush towards you. Use the Light form to evade and ask you tank to engage along with your fighter. When the enemies got some damage enter the gank and use the combos and take the kills. After taking the kills don’t forget to take the turtle too.

Mid Game

In the mid game its most appropriate that you will be targeted for sure. So try to enter the ganks when everyone is engaged. Use then combos to deal maximum damage but never go too close to the enemies. Remember your 2nd skill can lock on the targets so choose you targets carefully and don’t overcommit. In the mid game focus on the lord lane and try to gank there. If you gank in the lord lane and win the gank, just take the lord as fast as possible and end the game.

Late Game

In the late game just kill anyone who comes near you but doesn’t over-commit. Overcommitting can bring the whole team down in a second. Try to pick on the enemy main first as he will be most easy to kill and after the main or carry is dead the whole team is most likely to go down. Remember that goes for you too, so try not to die first.

Mobile Legends Lunox Guide

In the late game try to keep yourself in the light form as much as possible as it is most likely for you to get ganked and in the light form you can easily get away from any situations using the light form ultimately. So use that properly and you will win every match for sure.

Combos for Lunox

You can do a lot of combos with Lunox. But here in our Mobile Legends Lunox Guide, we mention these as our recommended skill combos

Skill 1 Combo

As Lunox’s basic attack is too low so I use this combo to clear minion waves and mainly poke the enemy.

Skill 1+Skill 2+ Skill 3+(repeat)

So here what you are basically doing is maintaining the light and dark forms along with giving magical damage outputs. When you press skill 1, the stack meter sets to light, then when you press skill 2 the stack meter sets to dark with giving targeted damage, when you use skill 3 the AoE comes in play and you repeat this giving damage and maintaining the forms.

Poking Combo

This combo is basically used to poke the enemy hiding inside a turret or to lure an enemy towards you.

Skill 1+ Skill 2+ Ultimate (light)+Skill 3+ Ultimate dark+ Spam Skill2

So here what your doing is luring the enemy with your first skill and when he tries to attack use the light form ultimate to evade his attacks. So when he tries to get back use your dark ultimate and spam skill 2 to deal damage. You can also finish him off with skill 3 or you can use skill 3 to slow him first then spam skill 2 with dark ultimate.

Diving Combo

This combo is basically used when you are diving in to finish them off.

Ultimate Light+ Skill 2+ Skill3+ skill2+ Ultimate dark+ Skill3

Starting with the light form on full stacks (2), ultimate on the enemies giving continuous damage to them. After it ends use skill 2 immediately to provide extra damage, slow them with skill 3 and skill 2 again to shift to dark form. Use ultimate and spam skill 2. In the last use skill 3 to finish them off.

These three are the basic combos used with Lunox but note that there are tons of different combos you can do with Lunox.

Final Thoughts

Lunox is definitely a meta pick with high burst damage, which melts the tanks too. When fully farmed and with proper positioning, she can easily dominate from the early to mid games.
