Mobile Legends Claude Guide: Best Emblem, Build and Gameplay Tips

Come on, Dexter! It's our showtime!

Claude is one of the most unique heroes in the land of dawn and for this reason, after his release in 2018, he has been proving himself as a reliable sidelaner all along. But the nerf on maximum attack speed gain from maxed stacks in the patch 1.6.48 made Claude one of the least picked heroes. So in patch 1.6.50, Moonton buffed Dexter, Claude’s partner, which makes him a popular pick again. Claude’s 2nd skill Battle Mirror Image is arguably the best escape skill among all other marksmen and for this, he can both chase enemies or escape from them easily if used properly. In this Mobile Legends guide, we will take a look at the best emblem, spell, build, including tips and tricks to dominate every game with Claude.

We have previously discussed how to master playing with other Mobile Legends heroes like MiyaLing, WanwanPharsaCarmillaSilvanna, HayabusaAtlasLuo YiYu Zhong, Aurora, Khaleed, Freya, Khufra, X.Borg, Lesley, Tigreal, Hylos, Valir, Cecilion, Lylia, Uranus, Barats, Odette, Angela, Vale, Rafaela, Hanzo, Esmeralda, Brody, Lapu-Lapu, Nana, Benedetta, Hilda, Mathilda, Selena, Jawhead, Chou, Paquito, Thamuz, Lunox, Yi Sun-Shin, Yve, Gatotkaca, Karrie, Ruby, Beatrix, Gloo, Argus, Baxia, Granger, Phoveus, Hanabi, Alpha, Harley, Karina, Eudora, Natan, Dyrroth, Balmond, Aulus, Guinevere, Sun, Belerick, Floryn, Aamon, Valentina, Kagura, Saber, Leomord, Bruno Akai, Bane, Edith, Martis, Alucard, Gusion, Chang’e, Yin, Clint, Alice, Grock, Kadita, Popol and Kupa, Zilong, Minotaur, Helcurt, Cyclops, Lancelot, and Kaja. So make sure to check these hero guides as well. For now, let’s focus on Claude.

Skill Analysis

Claude has three active skills and a passive skill like most of the other heroes in-game. In this Mobile Legends guide, we will also talk about the skills to use in certain scenarios as well as skill combos to be able to play Claude to his maximum potential.

Passive – Battle Side-by-side (Buff)

passive claude

After Claude’s each basic attack Dexter also follows up and deals a basic attack too. This extra basic attack from Dexter deals 20 (+35% of Total Physical Attack) amount of physical damage to the same target as Claude’s. Also, do remember that Dexter’s attack can mimic Claude’s attack effects.

Skill 1 – Art of Thievery (AoE, Buff, CC)

CD – 5.0 at all levels
Mana – 65/70/75/80/85/90

skill 1 claude

Claude can active this skill in a fan-shaped area and deal 160/185/210/235/260/285 (+40% of Total Physical Attack) amount of physical damage. This skill also reduces targeted enemies’ movement speed by 20%/20%/25%/25%/30%/30% and their attack speed by 10%/12%/14%/16%/18%/20%.

Each stack gained by Claude gives him 4%/4.6%/5.2%/5.8%/6.4%/7% extra Movement Speed as well as Attack Speed that lasts up to 6sec. Claude’s Stacks are capped at 5 and he gains a double-stack upon hitting an enemy hero.

CD – 11.0/10.5/10.0/9.5/9.0/8.5
Mana – 70/80/90/100/110/120

skill 2 claude

Claude manifests a holographic image of Dexter on the battlefield that can automatically attack nearby enemies for 5.5sec. Upon casting this skill again Claude can switch places with Dexter’s mirror image.

Dexter’s basic attacks can deal 20 (+35% of Total Physical Attack) amount of physical damage and it can imitate Claude’s attack effects. It’s a teleportation-type blink so it can be used to blink through thick walls too.

Ultimate Skill – Blazing Duet (Burst, Shield)

CD – 50.0/45.0/40.0
Mana – 150/175/200

skill 3 ultimate claude

For 3sec Claude and Dexter briskly fire at the enemies ( capped up to two enemies ), in a circular shape area, dealing 100/115/130 (+10% of Total Physical Attack) amount of physical damage. This skill can mimic all the basic attack effects and also grants Claude a shield that can absorb 20(+3% Total Physical Attack) amount of damage. The bonus attack speed can drastically increase the rate of fire. Claude can move while casting his Ultimate so be sure not to stand in one spot and take advantage of this feature.

Skill-up method for Claude

Claude’s First skill Art of Thievery has a low CD as well as deals a decent amount of damage and also puts a controlling effect on enemies, so be sure to max it first. Then prioritize second skill and upgrade Ultimate whenever available.

Best Emblem set and Spells for Claude in Mobile Legends

As you can play Claude on the sideline or as a jungler, there are two different emblems we would like to recommend to you. Use either the custom Assassin emblem or Marksman emblem and find out what suits you better

Custom Assassin Emblem

It will provide both Movement Speed as well as Physical Penetration. For talent, we would recommend going with Killing Spree as it will provide some amount of HP restoration and movement speed after getting a kill.

  • Agility (+3)
  • Invasion (+3)
  • Killing Spree

Custom Marksman Emblem

Though the Assassin emblem is a popular choice, you can use the Marksman emblem too with Claude. The talent Weakness Finder of this emblem can be triggered frequently. It has a chance of reducing enemies’ movement speed by 90% and also reducing their attack speed too.

Aegis is a popular choice for sideline Claude or you can take flicker also to escape from a sticky situation. In the current meta jungler Claude is emerging too so you have to take retribution in this situation.

Best Builds for Claude in Mobile Legends

Demon Hunter Sword is a must buy i.e. Core item for Claude, so it is recommended to buy it and tweak the rest of the items as per the game situation. Still, as a total guide provider, we will walk through two builds for Claude, try them out and decide which one is more beneficial according to your gameplay style. Remember that neither of these is a fixed build, except the Core items all items should be bought according to the game situation and enemy lineup, always try items yourself to find what suits your gameplay.

Golden Demon Hunter Build

We will consider Demon Hunter Sword and Golden Staff as the core items.

Golden Demon Hunter Build for Claude
  • Demon Shoes: Claude’s efficiency comes from continuously using his skills properly and those skills consume a lot of mana. So staying on the battlefield more and getting rid of going in the base for mana regen, Demon Shoes is a must buy.
  • Demon Hunter Sword: Claude’s, as well as Dexter’s basic attacks, reach their maximum potential when combined with Demon Hunter. This item is the lifeline for Claude.
  • Golden Staff: This item’s unique passive allows Claude to attack rapidly thus increasing both Claude’s and Dexter’s basic attacks’ damage.
  • Blade of Despair: Providing the most Physical Attack, BOD is a must-buy for maximum burst damage output. Demon Hunter Sword lacks damage when the enemy is low on health, in this matter BOD’s passive strike on to the enemy. When at below 50% HP, BOD will hurt enemies a lot.
  • Malefic Roar: If enemies think they can be safe by buying armor then Malefic Roar will surely punish them. It reduces enemy armor by providing Physical Penetration and also carries a decent amount of Physical Attack itself.
  • Wind of Nature: To make his Ultimate more effective Claude needs to get close to enemies ( as he can deal damage to more than one enemy by his Ultimate ) so that they are in Claude’s Ultimate’s range and with this, the risk of getting targeted by enemies also come too. So activating Wind of Nature’s passive in the proper situation can be useful to avoid getting physical damage and complete a successful gank.

Additionally, one can choose to buy Immortality in place of boot in the late game.

Critical Claude Build

As previously discussed Demon Hunter is being counted as a Core item here too but we will replace Golden Staff with Berserker’s Fury.

  • Demon Hunter Sword: Claude’s, as well as Dexter’s basic attacks, reach their maximum potential when combined with Demon Hunter. This item is the lifeline for Claude.
  • Scarlet Phantom: Comes with a good amount of attack speed Scarlet Phantom also provides some ability to deal critical damage too. Equipped with Berserker’s Fury its potential can be increased by a lot. It also helps Claude gain the required attack speed.
  • Berserker’s Fury: This provides the most critical chance and for most marksmen, it’s a must-buy. It combines perfectly with Scarlet Phantom and increases its effectiveness.

Additionally, one can choose to buy Immortality in place of boot in the late game. You can take Wind Talker in place of Scarlet Phantom. Remember not to include Golden Staff with any critical item in the same build.

Mobile Legends Claude Gameplay Tips

Like every other Marksman, positioning is very crucial when playing Claude. However, a player must need a good understanding of the map to bring the best out of any hero. According to his gameplay, we can break it down into three phases. Our Mobile Legends Claude guide includes the perfect game plan for the early, mid, and late game.

Early Game

Claude is very weak in the early game like most other Marksman, so be careful until you get Demon Hunter Sword. Unlock your Skill 1 first and hit minions plus your opposition sidelaner to get the maximum amount of stacks to clear the lane faster. Be sure to be at a safe distance while doing this. You can use ur Second skill to check bushes for potential threats or to clear lanes from a safe distance.

Mid Game

After getting Demon Hunter, Claude is ready to deal a decent amount of damage. Be sure to rotate and gank whenever have a chance. If Turtle is about to spawn in your lane pay attention to the map for a possible gank and use your ultimate at right time.

Always prioritize mage and enemy marksman first as they are squishy. Don’t forget to charge your stacks to the max before using your Ultimate as max stacked Claude deals more damage by using Ultimate. Don’t risk yourself and chase for kills, farming is important as like every marksman Claude too shines in the late game.

Late Game

After getting all items Claude is now ready to bring hell for his enemies. Position yourself behind the tank and continuously use your first skill to slow down enemies as well as deal damage. Keeping your stacks max is an important skill to master Claude properly.

Don’t waste your Second skill unnecessarily as it can help you escape from or chase down an enemy. Keep in mind that Claude’s Ultimate has a circular range so you don’t need to always jump into the middle of the enemies to deal damage, just make sure your targeted enemies are inside this range.

Claude is not a nightmare for most of his fellow marksmen but CC-equipped marksmen like Moskov, Brody, mages like Kadita, Eudora, fighters like Zilong, Guinevere, tanks like Hylos, Franco can be proved dangerous as these all can disrupt his Ultimate midway.

Final Thoughts

Claude is a great choice against almost all hero, but as most other marksman he too is vulnerable to Assassins. Yet thanks to his unique blink skill, he can get out of sticky situations if played properly. An excellent pick for rank games, Claude is definitely a good pick for the current meta.
