As the descendant of immigrants from the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, a tiny but proud nation wedged between Germany, France and Belgium, I try to get to the ancestral homeland regularly. On my previous visit to Luxembourg City, I found an inexplicable Cadillac Escalade towering over a microscopic Ligier JS50, and I have returned to find a Detroit machine I never expected to see over here: a late third-generation Pontiac Firebird, illegally parked near the Court of Justice for the European Union.

The Firebird was always the sibling of the Chevrolet Camaro, and this is one of the later third-generation (1982-1992) examples. I'm calling it a 1991, but it could be a 1992 model.

This appears to be a base-model Firebird, and so it probably has the 3.1-liter V6 under its primer-black-sprayed hood. It might have a 5.0- or 5.7-liter V8, though, and the sky is the limit for engine swaps in these cars.
