Niantic has revealed that the Pokémon found in the Paldea region will soon be available in Pokémon GO. From September 5 at 10 AM to September 10 at 8 PM local time, players will have the opportunity to engage in a Special Research quest named A Paldean Adventure. This research will feature different paths to introduce these new Pokémon to Trainers.
During this period, Trainers can anticipate a range of new activities including raids, hatching of region-specific eggs, a collection challenge, and even avatar items. Notably, the Ultra Unlock bonuses earned by Trainers during Pokémon GO Fest 2023 will play a role in enhancing this upcoming event. Once the initial event concludes, Trainers will also have the chance to participate in the subsequent “Ultra Unlock: Paldea” event.
Pokémon GO A Paldean Adventure: Pokémon debuts
The following Pokémon first discovered in the Paldea region will make their Pokémon GO debuts:
The evolution requirements for debuting Pokémon are as follows:
- Trainers can use 25 Sprigatito Candy to evolve Sprigatito into Floragato, and 100 Sprigatito Candy to evolve Floragato into Meowscarada.
- Trainers can use 25 Fuecoco Candy to evolve Fuecoco into Crocalor, and 100 Fuecoco Candy to evolve Crocalor into Skeledirge.
- Trainers can use 25 Quaxly Candy to evolve Quaxly into Quaxwell, and 100 Quaxly Candy to evolve Quaxwell into Quaquaval.
- Trainers can use 50 Lechonk Candy to evolve Lechonk into Oinkologne.
After the event ends, Trainers can look forward to the following.
- Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly may hatch from 5 km Eggs.
- Lechonk may hatch from 2 km Eggs.
If players are lucky, they may encounter a Shiny one.

Timed Research featuring encounters with Lechonk will be available throughout the event. And not only is Lechonk making its Pokémon GO debut, but trainers may even encounter a Shiny one—if they are lucky.
Pokémon GO A Paldean Adventure: Event Bonuses
Here are the bonuses that can be obtained during the event:
- Roaming Form Gimmighoul won’t appear at Golden PokéStops if a Golden Lure Module wasn’t used, but treasure-hunting Trainers may still find Gimmighoul Coins when they spin the PokéStop.
- PokéStops may turn gold without a Golden Lure Module.
- 4× XP for catching Pokémon.
- 4× Stardust for catching Pokémon.
- Enter the chunkiest Lechonk into showcases at PokéStops.
- Houndour, Hoppip, Buizel, and Fletchling will be more likely to be shiny during the event.
Pokémon GO A Paldean Adventure: Adventures Abound Special Research
Trainers have the opportunity to engage in a fresh Special Research narrative featuring multiple routes. In the context of Pokémon GO: Adventures Abound, they will have the chance to embark on journeys and establish a close connection with their selected companion Pokémon. The Special Research can be obtained without any charge, starting from 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, until 9:59 a.m. local time on Friday, December 1, 2023.

In honor of the launch of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet’s inaugural DLC, known as The Teal Mask, avatar accessories modeled after the primary protagonists will be accessible to every player from September 13th onward.
